Finite Element Study to Evaluate the Stress Around Mini-implant during Canine Retraction using Continuous and Interrupted Orthodontic Forces

Abstract:
 Objectives: This work aimed to determine the stress distribution around a mini-implant during dynamic canine retraction utilizing continuous and intermittent orthodontic forces three-dimensional finite element model.
 Materials Methods: Establishing model of retraction. The incorporates mini-implant, alveolar bone, maxillary teeth, closed coil spring, an elastic chain. They were described as being homogeneous, isotropic, linear elastic. Continuous interrupted approximated by NiTi spring chain, respectively. To retract canine, simulated force 1.5N, 2N, 2.5N loaded. ANSYS evaluated value bone interface (workbench 19).
 Results indicated that there was no significant difference between values maximum miniscrew, under different loads when chain evaluated.
